  1. Set an activity time Chart: for about a week, try taking notes of all your activities in the day, from studying to commuting and sleeping and eating. That way, you have a clear view of your daily activities and free time.
  2. Create a schedule: From the time chart, you can now set your study time based on the free time you have. Set realistic time and days with subjects you plan to study.
  3. Set Goals: You can’t just decide to study for the sake of it, you will be doing it for the wrong reasons. Take your time, think about what you want to achieve and adjust your schedule weekly inline with your goals. Do want to do excellently well in test, then you will need to adjust your schedule to fit in more time for that subject weeks before the test.
  4. Prepare your study materials: You should prepare which section of your notes or chapters in the class materials you intend to cover beforehand and make sure to complete them.

Quick Tips to Help you Stick to your Study Plan

  1. Your study sessions shouldn’t be long so you won’t get bored easily and lose focus.
  2. Pick a well lit, aerated and quiet space that you can call your study location. The more you study there, the easier it will be to get into reading mode once you’re in that space.
  3. Do not be tempted to skip study sessions when there are no upcoming test/exams and this is very important. Constant study, even for 30mins, will help keep you afloat.
  4. Set short study breaks to eat, relax or walk to help you remain alert while studying
